Have you ever had a moment you look back on and realize it changed the trajectory of your life?

For our family, that moment came back in 2014. A viral video of a competitor on American Ninja Warrior took the world by storm, showcasing incredible determination, grit, and athleticism. Our oldest son was just five at the time, and as he watched in awe, his eyes lit up and he said, “I want to do that!”

We’re Barak and Alison Davis, and from that moment on, a passion for ninja training took root in our family. Fast forward a few years to 2020, right in the middle of COVID, when Barak combined his love of extreme sports with our family’s growing enthusiasm for all things ninja. Before long, our garage had transformed into a mini training zone - complete with homemade ninja obstacles! Our four kids spent countless hours climbing rock walls and ropes, swinging through monkey bars, and tackling the salmon ladder with determination and huge smiles.

As our youngest son began competing in ninja and his skills continued to grow, we started searching for a dedicated training facility in our area, only to find that the sport was still emerging here in California.

In early 2025, we committed to praying about the idea of opening our own ninja training facility in the Sacramento region, and soon after, we saw God begin opening doors in incredible ways. Each opportunity, each connection, felt like confirmation that this dream was meant to move forward.

Lightning Ninja Academy is a fully equipped, indoor ninja training facility coming soon to Roseville, CA. Our mission is to inspire growth and development through obstacle sports training, ninja classes, special events, and more!

As a family-owned and operated gym, we’re building more than just a place to train - we’re creating a community where kids, teens, and adults can challenge themselves, build confidence, and experience the thrill of conquering obstacles together. We can’t wait to share our love for ninja, and the journey that inspired it, with the Roseville community and beyond!
